Since its launch in 2028, the Epic Games Store has distributed one game per week for free, peaking during the Christmas holidays. A golden deal, so much so that it is interesting to ask the question of the value of these regular gifts. This is exactly what our colleagues at PCGamesN did, and the result is astronomical.
If you’re playing on PC, there’s a good chance you have the Epic Games Store installed on your machine. However, the launcher is very often criticized for its poor performance compared to Steam and its particularly invasive notifications. But this one has a strong argument which makes it very difficult to uninstall: the free games distributed every week.
Since 2018, the Epic Games Store has offered a new game to its users every week. Very often, these are independent games, at a lower price than the behemoths in the sector. But it also happens that big AAA titles are available without paying a single cent, especially during holiday periods. Suffice to say that if you have collected all the free games since the launch of the store, you are currently sitting on a real gold mine.

The Epic Games Store has offered more than €9,000 worth of games since its creation
Our colleagues from PCGamesN have indeed decided to take out the calculator to estimate the value of all the games offered by Epic since the launch of its store. According to them, this amounts to no less than 10,110.41 dollars, or 9,392.77 euros. A tidy sum which will unfortunately be of no use to you other than informative since it is impossible to resell games purchased on the Epic Games Store.
In total, the store offered 393 games. It should also be noted that some, like Death Strading, have already been offered more than once. Among the biggest games offered, we can notably cite GTA V or Civilization VI. It remains to be seen whether this will continue for much longer. Indeed, Epic itself admits: its platform is absolutely not profitable. If this fails to attract enough players, it’s a safe bet that these gifts will eventually disappear.
