Honestly, I don’t understand your current positioning at Xboxygen…
You are a site with Xbox in its name, you mainly deal with news concerning the Xbox, your community is a large majority (apart from the usual trolls that we know well) owners of Xbox consoles and fans of what the brand offers .
And yet for months now, you don’t miss an opportunity to hit on Microsoft and Phil Spencer… When it’s not on the dematerialized, it’s on the excluded or on the editorial choices, ect ect.
Sorry, but from the moment Microsoft launched Game Pass, it has been clear and clear that their commercial vision is geared towards dematerialization, so de facto, it is normal that they push towards this economic model. So why systematically play the coy virgin?
Same thing for rumors of hardware discontinuation and the arrival of certain exclusives on other consoles. You have not done a single critical analysis of the rumors, you have just fueled the suspicions and the drama with articles against Microsoft.
So sorry, but think for two seconds about what the shutdown of hardware would mean for Microsoft customers: total abandonment of Xbox console owners, loss of their game library excluding Game Pass (as long as they have the possibility of use xCloud in good conditions), no more warranty monitoring, no more possibility of purchasing games, disappearance of the console store, etc.
Microsoft would never do such madness without having anything to offer them as an alternative at the risk of taking one of the worst falls on the stock market ever seen and being completely abandoned by everyone. This rumor wasn’t even credible!
And regarding exclusives, we start from rather credible rumors of discussions in high places at Microsoft to offer a few AA or fairly old games to Nintendo and Sony to generate a return on investment and promote Xbox studios at a lower cost, such as Hi-Fi Rush , Sea of Thieves, the old Gears of War from the Xbox 360 or Pentiment, and in the end, it ends with Microsoft is the new SEGA and ALL Microsoft licenses are coming to PS5, even Halo, Gears 6, Indiana Jones or Starfield.
And again, at no time do you do any critical analysis to show that such a move would be totally counterproductive for a brand which bases its business model on a subscription offering D1 internal AND exclusive games to their customers. Knowing full well that Game Pass will NEVER arrive on Playstation or Nintendo, this would only further weaken the attractiveness of Xbox and Game Pass.
Sorry for this huge blockage but frankly, I am disappointed by your current editorial line which consists of bashing Xbox rather than accepting the direction taken for years by Microsoft. So, you can not join it, I understand that, but then stop presenting yourself as a site dedicated to a brand that you disapprove of. Also no, you will have more and more trolls in your comments who will click only on critical news and you will be condemned to becoming yet another Gameblog/JV.com/Gamekult who feed on putaclic and a nauseating community that doesn’t care about video games.
