The teenager suffered injuries considered serious, including significant head trauma. He was urgently evacuated to Purpan hospital where he was admitted. His vital prognosis was in jeopardy during his evacuation. This Sunday morning, the police were unaware of the evolution of his state of health.
“The incident did not occur at the station but just afterward, at a place where the platforms no longer exist,” specifies the SNCF on-call manager.
According to the first elements collected by the police officers on duty, who went to the site, the train driver saw this boy pass on the tracks while the TER was still stopped. The accident occurred a few minutes later, at the departure of the convoy.

“Is it a voluntary gesture, an accident? For the moment all hypotheses must be studied,” confides the duty commissioner. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the Right Bank judicial support group.
The police have not identified any direct witnesses to this accident. Research into video surveillance images must still be carried out to clarify the circumstances of this unusual accident, although since November, an SNCF campaign has been informing travelers, particularly the youngest, of the risks incurred in the station and around the tracks.
In mid-January, a 14-year-old teenager who lived in Lavelanet-de-Comminges, in Haute-Garonne, was mowed down by a train at Albias station, north of Montauban in Tarn-et-Garonne. After getting off the train with friends, she crossed without realizing that a new train was arriving at high speed. The teenager, a basketball fan, was killed instantly.
