Decathlon is renewing one of its two bags into a Btwin, which can be transformed into a backpack. This new generation brings some interesting improvements to its bag.
In the land of accessories for muscle bikes and electric bikes, Decathlon does not skimp on resources. Every week, new products are added to the French group’s catalog: Frandroid focuses on the main new features, like this two-in-one double bag capable of transforming into a backpack.
Bearing a “New” annotation, this equipment is in fact entitled to a new and improved version. On the program: a larger interior volume, revised hook positions to make the whole thing more compact, a rain cover with more coverage and easier access and finally, the addition of a flat bottom to improve stability of the bag once placed on the ground.
27 liters in total
Weighing 1.3 kg, the bag therefore has the particularity of being a luggage rack on one side, a backpack on the other. To do this, a manipulation in 3 gestures “simple and super fast» is necessary, says Decathlon. Without giving more details on the process in question. In comparison, the MIK and QL3 standards are reference systems in terms of practicality. It’s generally difficult to do better than them.
In terms of capacity, you can benefit from 27 liters in total: 10 liters in the rear compartment with a location to store your PC alongside a zipped pocket and three pen holders; and also 17 liters in the front compartment, equipped with two interior pockets and a so-called roll-up closure. An external zipped pocket completes the package.
Although the bag benefits from a water-repellent treatment, it is not waterproof. Same song for the protective cover, which is mainly used to protect it from dirt and other splashes. Decathlon also thought about integrating a locking system capable of securing the luggage against accidental falls and snatching.
In terms of visibility, and as is often the case with Decathlon products, two locations have been added to clip lighting, combined with reflective strips to improve visibility to other users at night.
Which luggage racks are compatible?
According to the French firm, its bag/backpack is compatible with the majority of luggage racks on the market: all those with a tube diameter between 6 and 16 mm in this case. One bike model does not fit into this category: the Original 920 E.
45 cm high, 34 cm wide and 23 cm deep, this Btwin luggage is available at a price of 75 euros, in Sepia and Dark Gray Green colors, all with a 2-year warranty.
